Colonial America

We have just completed the Explorer unit and are ready to begin studying Colonial America. During the month of October the students will: Identify the the 13 colonies and determine why each was settled; differentiate economic, political, social and geographic aspects of the New England, Middle and Southern colonies; and discover the events that led up to the American Revolution. We will be mapping, creating 3 voice poems, learning about school during the 1600 and 1700's, and more!

The end of the first quarter is October 14th. There is no school October 15th and 18th.

Explorers

After reviewing geography and Native Americans, we are starting our first unit of the year...Explorers. We will be practicing notetaking skills, discussing individual explorers, learning about the Columbian Exchange and more.



The test on Explorers will be Wednesday, Sept. 22 (A day) and Thursday, Sept. 23 (B day).
